William "Carroll" Grundhoefer

William “Carroll” Grundhoefer, 87, of Owensboro, passed away, Thursday, May 11, 2023, at his residence. He was born June 29, 1935, in Dale, IN to the late Linus Vitus Grundhoefer and Dorothy (Snyder) Wibbeler. Carroll worked at Grundhoefer Meats in Dale, IN, he later retired from Alcoa where was a foreman. He enjoyed hiking, bingo, and Jeopardy. Carroll was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend and he loved everyone.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Sue Suhrheinrich Grundhoefer, sons Kimberly John Grundhoefer and Stephen Lee Grundhoefer, and sister, Genell Batesole.

Survivors include two children, Jeffery Carroll (Sheri) Grundhoefer and Julie Ann (Gene) Young, and 1 brother, Larry (Nancy) Wibbeler. He was known as Papa to his five grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear companion, Peggy Karen McDuffy.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends may visit with the family from 10 AM until the time of service.
