Mike’s first experience with funeral service was in 1962 with a funeral home in Hartford, Kentucky, which was owned by Haley-McGinnis at that time. It was there that he served his apprenticeship. He graduated from Kentucky School of Mortuary Science and served in the military until 1968.

Mike has been President of Haley-McGinnis since 1978. He is Past President of Owensboro Lions Club and Owensboro Southtown Kiwanis. Mike and his wife, Kay, purchased Haley-McGinnis in 1998. Together, Mike and Kay have six children, eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. They and their daughter, Megan, attend Owensboro Christian Church.

Kay is a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School. She became acquainted with Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home in 1980 when she became employed as the secretary for the firm; presently she is co-owner and secretary/treasurer. She attends Owensboro Christian Church, with her husband, Mike, and daughter, Megan. Kay has four daughters, two sons, eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Megan graduated from Apollo High School in 2002. After graduation she moved to Lexington to attend the University of Kentucky from which she received a Bachelors degree in Communications and a Minor in Business in 2006. After graduating from UK, Megan began serving her apprenticeship at Haley-McGinnis. In 2007 she attended Mid-America College of Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, Indiana where she received an Associates degree in Mortuary Science. Megan attends Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She is a member of Owensboro Business and Professional Women’s Club and Kiwanis Club.

Ken was born in Coatsville, Pennsylvania. He graduated from high school at Staunton Military Academy in Virginia and attended college at Kentucky Wesleyan College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary and Elementary Education. After college, he taught fourth grade in Indiana for three years. Ken became a licensed funeral director in 1978; He is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and is active in the Odd Fellows Lodge in Owensboro. Together, he and his wife, Carlyne, have six daughters, one son and twelve grandchildren.

Gary retired from Green River Steel Corporation in 1985, began his apprenticeship with Haley-McGinnis in 1987 and received his Funeral Directors License in 1990. He is a 1978 graduate of Brescia University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration; he formerly served as Chairman of Brescia University’s Alumni Association. Gary and his wife, Carol Settles, are members of Immaculate Catholic Church where he is a Past Parish Council Member and Parish Council Chairman. They have three daughters; Danette Stolsworth, Lisa Skeeters and Angela Lewis and eight grandchildren. He is a 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council # 10725, a 4th Degree member Council # 817, past board member of Owensboro Hospice, Incorporated where he served for nine years and two terms as Chairman and he is President Elect of Sierra Club of Owensboro. Gary is the Veteran’s Service Officer for American Legion James L. Yates Post # 9 and in this capacity assists Veterans and Veteran’s Widows in obtaining Veteran’s Benefits.

Jeff is a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School. In 2005 Jeff joined the staff at Haley-McGinnis, where he is the groundskeeper and also is in charge of building and vehicle maintenance. Jeff and his wife Wendy, have two sons; Logan and Landon.

Nathan is a 2003 graduate of Apollo High School. After graduating, Nathan moved to High Point, NC where he began touring internationally. He has since released four records, earning him multiple mass-media placements, as well as winning the 2010 IndieCharts Music Award. In 2010, Nathan began working at Haley-McGinnis and Owensboro Funeral Home, where he is currently serving his apprenticeship. He is a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and involved in many clubs, such as Owensboro’s BNI Chapter. Nathan attends Arapahoe Community College, working towards his degree in Mortuary Science.

Stanley Wilson, L.U.T.C.F., brings his 42 plus years of experience in the Insurance Business to the Pre-Need Counseling at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home. Stanley retired from Commonwealth Life Insurance Company in 2000 after 35 years of service and began his career with Haley-McGinnis in 2001. He and his wife Judy have been married for 46 years. They have four children and seven grandchildren and are active members of Owensboro Church of Christ.

Kim, formerly of Owensboro, attended Apollo High School prior to moving to Princeton, Kentucky where she attended Caldwell County High School and Hopkinsville Community College. She has recently returned to Owensboro, Kentucky to begin working at Haley McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home. Kim has a daughter, two sons and two grandsons.

Marie is a graduate of Owensboro High School. She has three children and is a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church. She is also employed by United Way of the Ohio Valley as a Campaign Administrative Assistant, where she has over 30 years experience working in non-profit organizations.

Mary moved from Somerset, Kentucky to join the family of Haley McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home. Mary is a 3rd generation funeral director and embalmer, originally from Pineville, Kentucky. She is a graduate of Mid America College of Funeral Service with an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science. She is currently attending Owensboro Christian Church. Mary is a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and Business and Professional Women’s Club. She also holds and teaches several grief seminars and classes.
